This policy covers two different things: what the aqua.eco website collects, and what a SeaPrep unit records once you own one. They are separate, and we describe them separately.
What the website collects
The site has exactly two forms, and neither one asks for more than it needs.
- Global waitlist: your email address, and optionally your region and which system you are interested in.
- Dealer and service partner application: your company, contact name, email address, country, type of business, expected annual volume, and anything you write in the message field.
With either form we also record the page you submitted from, any campaign parameters in that page’s address (the utm_ values a link may carry), and the moment you agreed to be contacted.
We use those details to answer you about this product. We do not sell them, we do not pass them to advertisers, and we will not add you to a newsletter unless you ask for one.
Cookies
The public site sets no tracking cookies and runs no third-party analytics. Two cookies exist and both are for staff: a login cookie for the content management system, and a short-lived cookie that lets an editor preview an unpublished draft. Neither is set for an ordinary visitor.
If that changes we will say so here before it changes, not after.
Where the data is held
The site runs on Cloudflare Workers; uploaded media is stored in Cloudflare R2. Form submissions are stored in a Postgres database hosted by Supabase. Notification emails are sent through Resend. Each of those providers processes the data on our behalf and under their own terms.
What a SeaPrep unit records
Before a Founder Edition unit ships, its serial number is bound to your account together with an authorisation to collect its device logs. Those logs are how we support you and how the product gets better in its first year.
A unit records its own operation: batch state, salinity readings and corrections, faults and safety stops, manual interventions, filter and salt-refill events, firmware version, and which salt you told it you are using.
We also keep the record of our own follow-ups — the installation check, and the day 3, day 14 and day 30 conversations — including how the first batches went and how satisfied you are.
We use all of it to diagnose problems remotely, to fix defects, and to decide what to improve. Publishing your case, your photographs or your results requires your separate written permission, every time. Being a Founder buyer is not that permission.
Your choices
Write to support@aqua.eco to see what we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted. Ask us to stop collecting device logs and we will — you keep the unit and the warranty; what you lose is remote diagnosis, which makes some support slower.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects what we collect or why, we will say so on this page and write to anyone whose data is affected.
